Most of the vehicles we sell are still covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. However, for any older vehicles which are no longer covered by manufacturer’s warranty, I&K have a free of charge, 30 day Internal Warranty which is applied from the date the vehicle is delivered. We also subscribe to the Scottish Motor Trade Association’s own Scotsure Mechanical Breakdown Insurance (MBI) Warranty, which may be purchased at very competitive rates to give you complete peace of mind.
I&K WARRANTY - 30 day/1,000 Miles (FOC)
I&K’s Liability
The total amount that I&K will pay under the 30 day/1000 miles cover is £500 + vat. This will include the cost of vehicle recovery and/or vehicle hire charges.
What is covered?
Your I&K 30 Day/1000 Miles Cover ensures that almost all mechanical and electrical components on your vehicle are covered for mechanical and electrical breakdown. There are some components, such as service items, which are not covered and these are listed in detail below.
What is NOT Covered?
Whilst the I&K 30 Day/1000 Miles Cover gives you a high level of protection, there are certain items which are not covered and this includes, but is not limited to, the following:
• Body components such as strikers, hinges or any component which may require adjustment from time to time
• Body panels, paintwork & glass
• Interior trim including seats and seatbelts
• Recharging of the air conditioning unit
• Renewal of brake components including discs due to wear and tear, seizure or constant use of the brakes
• Renewal of any clutch components due to incorrect adjustment or misuse
• The clearing of fuel lines, filters, carburetors and pumps
• Airbags; batteries; bulbs; wheel balancing and alignment; wheels; tyres and water ingress (including damage to covered parts caused by water)
• Oil leaks, which do not require the removal of the engine, gearbox and/or differential, filter elements and any damage caused by frost or lack of anti-freeze, impact or negligence
• Traffic management system, satellite navigation system, telephone, TV and associated equipment of all types
• Non-factory fitted radio cassette, CD player or any other in car entertainment component
• Normal maintenance services, and the replacement of such items as, but not limited to, spark plugs, plug leads, points, heater plugs and wiring looms
• Any loss caused directly or indirectly by the claim or the event that caused the claim
• Burnt out, sticking or pitted valves
• Damage resulting from the failure of a timing belt which has not been replaced as per the manufacturer’s recommendations
Please note: Oil, oil filter, gaskets, antifreeze and brake fluid, which may be required due to the failure of a covered component are also covered.
