The Directors
Steve Innes - Managing Director
Steve founded the business in 1983 having had experience in the Motor Trade with two main dealerships. At the age of 23, he decided to branch out on his own, he knew the trade, has always liked meeting people and thought he could provide a service in selling hand-picked vehicles in a small way, on his own. Little did he know how the business would grow! Steve still heads the company today. He remains at the helm of the business and still personally selects every sales vehicle which is, in itself, an enormous task as I&K car stock has a rapid turnover. He always maintains:
“It’s not how you sell a car - it’s how you buy a car that’s important. If you have the right stock at the right price, the selling is easy!”
“At I&K we have built our reputation on offering value for money, courtesy, and service…second to none! However, in the unlikely event of any of our customers being less than completely satisfied, please contact me and I will endeavour to resolve any problems personally.”
Lorna Innes - Director
Lorna has been involved in the business since it started, but it was not until 1989, after leaving a career in banking, that she took a full time position in accounting and administration control.
“I like to think that my role in the company compliments Steve’s,” says Lorna. “Of course, as a retail garage, selling is a large part of the business, but administration is just as important and we work hand-in-hand to build and improve on all operations in the company.”
Bill Duncan - Director
Bill has over 20 years experience in the Motor Trade, having held senior positions in two major motor groups before joining I&K as General Manager in January 2008. Bill was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2010, having proved his focus for ensuring customers are provided with unbeatable value for money and the highest possible level of customer service. Now, as a Director, he shares responsibilities with his Co-Directors maximizing the efficiency and progress of the business.
Managing Director, Steve Innes says: ”We appointed Bill in 2008 as we felt his experience and acumen would greatly benefit the business. This has clearly been the case and we are delighted to have him on board as a Director.”
